CLEP official study guide
#1
If I take the CLEP official study guide exams and score, percentage-wise, about an 80% under timed conditions, do you think that is a good indicator that I am prepared for the exam?

I plan to study hard and then use the practice questions to gauge where I am. Basically, at what percentage do you think I shoulD feel confident that I can pass the exam?

Some people say 50%, others say more. The scores are based on a scientific method which has hundreds (or thousands) of students take the exam and they place they passing score where the average was for the "C" students. They are all 50 (for CLEP) but the passing scores differ and undisclosed amount.

I'd say 80% is more than enough, but others might have more advice if you tell us what tests you are looking at. Basically there is no set passing score (but there is for the 400 scored DSST exams) but in most cases people find the passing scores to be pretty reasonable. Start with your easiest sounding test and you'll be fine.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

Thanks for the response! I'm sorry that my reply is really late, but my laptop broke and today is the most I have typed in practically a month. (I used my roommate's laptop a bit but responding during those times, as you might imagine, wasn't at the top of my priorities)

You were right, an 80% is more than enough. I'd sat 70% is good as well. Just because of who I am, I would feel worried at 60% but maybe you're good then too...
