Straighterline/Aleks/Thomas Edison
#1
I have 81 credits and am interested in getting an accounting degree from Thomas Edison. Here are the credits I still have to get:

-Precalculus
-Business in Society or International Management
-Business Policy
-Managerial Accounting
-All other accounting credits(area of study) except Financial Accounting
-Six business electives credits(I have already taken DSST Money and Banking)
-3 General Elective credits

My question is how do I finish my degree withthout enrolling in the comprehensive tuition plan at Thomas Edison which is more than 7k? I am definitely open to using Clep/DSST for any of these remainding credits, but have pretty much taken all the ones I want to. Can I use Straighterline or Aleks to reduce the number of credits I have to take with TE in order to reduce the price? Thanks for your help.

Also remember you'll still have to pay the annual "enrollment fee" or whatever they call it, something like $3K. A lot less than $7K but don't be taken by surprise. Just don't pay it until you are done and ready to graduate. Also, it will take about 6 weeks to get your official eval which will give you all the credits officially.

Geezer is spot on. Go buy the accounting book for straighterline right now and get the previous version on Amazon for about 10 bucks shipped.
Then sign up for the $99 per month and enroll in accounting I&II. You could finish those two this month. ALEKs is good for stats too but it takes a while to complete. Do a search on this forum to find some helpful tips on that one.
Hint. Print the examples to a PDF file and save for later exams.
The TECEP is interesting material. Read the entire book and watch out for lists of things, like 4 steps to building a competitive advantage, for example. You may need to write about those on the test.
BSBA CIS from TESC, BA Natural Science/Math from TESC
MBA Applied Computer Science from NCU
Enrolled at NCU in the PhD Applied Computer Science
