TESC Second Degree New Credit Guidelines
#11
HorseManiac Wrote:Okay, this is probably going to sound dumb, but I'm confused. Is this saying that instead of being able to start on the 24 New credits (for 2 bachelors) the day after the conferral of your first degree you now have to wait a whole month!?!? Or am I missing something? Thanks!re

thanks for responding to the post

That is exactly what he is saying which is different than what is written in the catalog (the reason I posted it here); but I guess a few weeks is not going to hurt. It could also be just a general guideline so students are not confused about the dates.

Of course you always refer to what is published in the catalog but I would call and ask first. Better safe than sorry.

Okay, thanks, bricabrac! I guess a few weeks isn't all that bad, but when I get closer I'll be sure to double check with TESC! Thanks again!

The 18 credit requirement is part of the military TA deal. They will accept the military TA and waive the annual enrollment fee, but in exchange you must complete 6 classes / 18 credits "in residence" through them. Of course, this way they make roughly the equivalent of two years of enrollment fees anyway.

BUT military TA will not pay for a lateral (second) degree. You can only go forward, i.e. one associates -> one bachelor's -> one master's, and it stops once you get your master's. The exception in the Air Force is that it will also pay to get your CCAF degree regardless of where you are.

This does not count the GI Bill, which is a completely different program with different rules and different pots of money.

Another way to interpret this, is that TESC has semesters starting each month, so if you want to take classes at TESC, you will have to wait until after conferral and on the beginning of the next month.
