im interested in taking the alek algebra assessment my question is do i have to take the full course or can i just take the exam and if i get a 70 or higher i can get the credit?thank you any information is greatly appreciated.

The assessment is in the course, so you have to enroll. It's only $20 though. But yes, if and when you score 70% on the assessment you're finished.

If you don't get 70% don't worry, you don't have to go through "the whole course" and then take an end-of-course exam. The system is adaptive. Once you have successfully answered X number of problems since your last assessment (it varies depending on difficulty and scope I think) you are hit with another assessment. You will not know in advance when it is coming.
HOWEVER...
I've heard through the grapevine that you can log in with your master account and force a new assessment at any time. Haven't done that myself so this is only hearsay, but if true then you can theoretically assess an infinite number of times until you hit 70%.
