Wouldn't ALEKS Statistics or DSST Statistics be a better choice than the TESC Quantitative Analysis for Business course? It would be less expensive to take the Business Policy TECEP than the course.

Straighterline Managerial Communications would cost less than the TESC course.

Hi Goodtogo, Yes, I thought it would be a good GE course to get through. Please advise if you disagree. Thanks

I'm actually takeing the Statistics as one of the requirements. But I really don't want to take Precalc, so the only choice that was listed on the TESC requirements was Quantative Analysis. I dont know if I can replace that with anything else. Please let me know if you I can. Thanks

Since you want to get into a good MBA program, be advised that you will need calculus and probably also statistics to get accepted. The TESC course you want to take probably has enough stats but there is a better, less expensive way to handle this:

I'd take the UExcel Calculus exam and do the ALEKS Business Statistics as one of the courses in your Gen Management area of study. I am sure they'd accept calculus in lieu of precalculus (frankly I think the latter is harder anyway).

A couple of things, make sure you look at the TECEP exams now that they are only $99 for Business Thomas Edison State College/ All TECEP&reg Tests Click on the exam and they will show a sample test. A couple like Sales Management and Marketing Communications look pretty easy/basic for someone with experience.

also the Straighterline Accounting class you need for the TESC business core is Accounting II ACC102

The Managerial Acct course ACC150 transcribes as Upper Level Cost Accounting at TESC, so you could use that in your Gen Mgmt Area of Study if you want.

If you speak even *a little* of a foreign language, those CLEPs are a good way to cover humanities and GE electives without taking one test for every 3 credits. I basically relied on my high school French (2 years worth a decade ago) for that test and thought I was failing the whole time, but still managed 6 credits out of it and came halfway towards 12.
TESC BA Social Science: Done! Graduating 12-16-11
133.33 credits, including 1.33 duped

DSST 21cr: 7/12 Intro to World Religions (483) 7/27 Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union (58) Money and Banking (55) 8/10 DSST: Middle East (71) Vietnam War (68) 8/11 Counseling (60) Substance Abuse (471)

CLEP 51cr: 7/19 Spanish (75) 7/26 Western Civ I (63) Western Civ II (68) College Math (61) 8/2 Intro to Educational Psych (58) Macroeconomics (54) Microeconomics (54) 8/17 Intro Sociology (57) Human Growth (57) Natural Sciences (61) French (55)

Johnson & Wales, Providence RI: 27 credits, 3.27 cum GPA
Cal State University Los Angeles: 25.33 credits, 1.903 cum GPA
Los Angeles Harbor College: 9 credits, 2.77 GPA

Also, consider the A&I Lit CLEP. It is a favorite on the forum.

Thanks Geezer, Could you please clarify which TESC Business core I would replace with the Straghterline ACC102?
