About half of the test are new format so far, seems like they are updating them one at a time, I plan on finishing up another 15 or so this weekend.

Yes, the course delivery seems to be slowly moving from PDF docs to interactive web-based courses. Some of the new exams have the questions followed by radio buttons and are about five to six pages. In my opinion it's a much better format. I would always proof the scantron answer sheets a few times before submitting; it was so easy to make mistakes.

Go in and take a look at the final exam for IS-208a or IS-10a.

Frederick Community College charges $77 per credit, or in your case, a total of $847. Credit banking at TESC will cost you $497 for 1-60 credits and $742 for 60+ credits. If APUS won't accept them directly, make sure it will accept them on a credit bank transcript.

I just took five FEMA courses in June or July and didn't have any problems. I wrote down the letter choice with the question number just in case they mixed up the test questions. In that case, I would be able to refer to the PDF file to look for the question, note its number, and look on my sheet of paper for the answer I wrote down. But I didn't have to do that; all of the questions were in the same order. I encountered the scantron and the new answer choice system where you read the question and pick the answer. I only took courses with PDF files because I didn't like the Interactive Web thing.

I go to submit my answer sheet and it kicks me back to the start screen. I scroll to the bottom and it tells me the multiple choice answer sheet EXPIRED in 2010.

Figured it out. On the old style answer sheet that the very bottom it mentions some form being expired in 2010, but it must be unrelated. I figured out that I was kicked off when I went to submit the answer sheet because I had to much idle time from start to finish, but it fails to mention that on the next screen, which originally led me to believe that there was something else wrong.

The old answer sheet still work, but I used the advice someone else gave me on here, and wrote down my answers before submission. Once I was kicked out, I went back in, re-filled out the sheet, and submitted it without problem.

What is the point of taking them and even getting the PDS cert if your college does not take them for credit and/or you do not need the credits? Is the cert worth while to have? Is it worth doing just to do?

While most schools may not accept the FEMA independent study courses because they are NOT ACE evaluated, my school has an articulation agreement with Frederick Community College.

My process is as follows:
1) Take 11-1 credit courses from FEMA directly.
2) Pay the per credit fee directly to FCC for their EM program.
3) Receive a FCC official transcript. The FEMA IS courses are their courses for the purpose of "in-residence" degree requirements because they are directly contracted as FEMA's education provider.
4) Apply my newly attained FCC credits to my college's elective requirements (I need 11 SH) through an existing articulation agreement between my college and FCC.
5) Perhaps get an AAS from FCC's EM program. Since the FEMA IS courses meet their in-residence requirement, I can transfer in my general education courses I've already completed. I currently lack the math requirement, but that's it.

This will probably not work for everyone, but I go to a college that has direct articulation agreement with FCC, I desire to obtain an education in emergency management, and I already satisfy almost all the other requirements. It just happens to work out for me.
