Hi everyone,
I’m currently finishing up SOS-1100 and getting ready to register next month for the business capstone January cohort. I’m trying to decide between Online and Guided Study, and I emailed advising to ask for the Guided Study syllabus since only the Online syllabus is posted on their website. This is the response I received from Donald: “The syllabus is the same for both versions of the course. The only difference between the two is interaction with classmates. Online versions of courses have you interact with classmates through discussion forums. Guided Study courses do not have interaction with your classmates. You may still be required to post to a discussion forum, but you do not comment on classmates' postings.”
From what I have read on here, it seems like the Guided Study version of the business capstone has separate written assignments instead of just discussion forums without replies. Also, I’ve read several times on here that the assignments/exam/projects in Guided Study are weighted differently than in Online. Wouldn’t there be two different syllabuses if Guided Study doesn’t contain discussion forums and the assignments are weighted differently? The syllabus he is saying is the only one for the capstone currently says 15% for discussions, 35% for case studies, 25% for midterm exam, 5% for E-Proficiency, and 20% for final project. Did TESU change the Guided Study capstone recently? Maybe I’m just misinterpreting his email, but I’m very confused.
Also, would anyone be willing to post the course calendar for the business capstone? Or just a rough idea of what/how much is due each week? I know they can change the calendar so it won’t be 100% accurate for my upcoming cohort, but having just a rough idea would be really helpful in scheduling the medical treatments I have to travel for next year.
Thank you everyone! I’ve had a great experience with TESU so far, and I highly recommend mentor Dr. Phillip Wagner for SOS-1100. He is very helpful and kind, and he leaves detailed, constructive feedback on every assignment.
