Any programs like Straighterline ?? - Big Jimbo_46 - 04-27-2010 Does anyone know of any programs such as Straighterline and ALEKS that can be used to satisfy Gen. Ed. / Liberal Studies requirements? I like the self-paced format and would like to do as many of my Gen. Ed. required classes as I can like this. Thanks, Jimbo. Yes, I know aleks satisfies general electives, i'm sure straighterline would too! I would call and speak to advising to confirm which courses. Example, TESC will allow beginning algebra as a gen ed. I am a social sci major and they applied both MAT and STA in my gen ed section. Economics courses would also apply to gen ed. All of their ACE approved classes are self paced and can be completed in a weekend, minus the proctored exam requirement. Do a forum search and you will find a lot of info Any programs like Straighterline ?? - Big Jimbo_46 - 04-28-2010 I live 40 miles from Penn Foster... took a "Degree" course from them back in 1982 when they were ICS... told me it was an AOS "degree"... actually was a 2 year Diploma...CEU credits... basically worthless... won't give them another cent of my money. (end of rant) Jimbo Any programs like Straighterline ?? - Big Jimbo_46 - 04-28-2010 I should clarify... are there any other programs available that are similar to Straighterline and ALEKS... my school won't take anything on an ACE transcript for Gen. Ed., will only apply ACE credits to electives, which I don't need. I plan on sending the Straighterline courses to FHSU then transfering them to my school... they will accept the transferred credits from FHSU. Any thoughts? I haven't found anything else similar that isn't expensive or done at a certain location. |
