College Mathematics exam - notecarder - 04-07-2010

Hi everyone,

I am looking for feedback on the College Mathematics CLEP, and any advice would be greatly appreciated. It has been years since I have taken any kind of math course, and I have always scored lower in that area to begin with. What kind of preparation do you recommend? Is InstantCert adequate? How would you rate the exam's level of difficulty?

Thanks very much!

I'm studying for it myself. From what i've gathered all practice exams are much harder than the actual test. So use all of the study guides you want. If you can get 50% on the practice tests you will pass.

I find the IC cards quite boring so it is hard for me to learn the material. I have bought the REA book and it is a little bit easier to study. My library had the COMEX DVD's and I watched those and they do a good job.

Good luck.

I studied using just IC. It had been 4+ years since I'd put down the hated math, so picking it up again was difficult. I studied very intensely for 2 weeks, and barely passed. But a pass is a pass, and I'm avoiding the other math CLEPs like the plague! Smile I did think the test was harder than the IC flashcards, but probably not by a whole lot.

Good luck on the test!
