Exausted! 4 more to go.. - mightymouse - 04-02-2010 Hey all, I haven't posted anything at all, but just know that all of the resources on IC have been truly invaluable to my successes. I appreciate everyone's information I have passed 11 exams since SEP 09 and have 4 more to go for my BS-Criminal Justice through Excelsior. College Mathematics CLEP Civil War & Reconstruction DSST Ethics: Theory & Practice ECE World Populations ECE Of course I decided to leave the hardest for last (Or so I believe). Naturally I am nervous about taking the math clep, so I pushed it back and now time to bite the bullet. The last 3 exams are all upper-level that I need and from what I've read they arent too difficult to pass. Thanks everyone. Exausted! 4 more to go.. - P00057870 - 04-02-2010 You're doing great....so don't let the anxiety of taking these keep you down. As you learn each subject it helps to prepare you for the next subject. Personally, I don't care for math either, so I choose to have a back-up plan -- just in case. Remember ALEKS, but study to get it done the first time and put it behind you. Look at what you have already accomplished! You can do this. :hurray: Exausted! 4 more to go.. - Sunshine - 04-02-2010 mightymouse Wrote:Hey all, I haven't posted anything at all, but just know that all of the resources on IC have been truly invaluable to my successes. I did the same thing- I kept putting off the harder exams until they were all I had left :willynilly:. Between the flashcards and feedback, IC has you covered for all of your remaining exams. Also, there are practice tests available for both of the ECEs you're taking. Keep up the good work and you'll be done before you know it! :hurray: Exausted! 4 more to go.. - mightymouse - 04-03-2010 Thanks for the motivation! I hope I don't have to do ALEKS courses if I dont pass the Math CLEP. I am not even sure what Excelsior will accept for the quantitative requirement. Exausted! 4 more to go.. - Farmerboy - 04-03-2010 Congrats on making it this far! I don't know about the other three, but College math really isn't that bad of a test. If you know the basics of algebra and probability and are really good at the 4 basic functions you should do fine. Keep going you are so close! Exausted! 4 more to go.. - mightymouse - 04-08-2010 Just an update, I passed College Math CLEP! Scored a 53, well who cares a pass is a pass right? Felt like so much weight is lifted off my shoulders. Exausted! 4 more to go.. - mhr2133 - 04-08-2010 Excellent - Congrats, you've got the hard one out of the way! Keep moving forward. Which one is next? Of your last three I've only taken World Pop and it was one of my favorite-easy and interesting. I bought both sparknotes for CW/Reconstruction. At my duty station (Yokosuka, Japan) I am the guinea pig for taking Excelsior College Exams at the college office. UMUC has a computer lab and i've taken all of my CLEP/DSST through them, however they just recently got on the pearson vue list so they have never administered an ECE yet. The college office doesnt even know how DANTES funding works, as military gets ECE's free. I know that you must register on Excelsior's webite first and then Excelsior sends the "OK" to pearson vue then you can take the test. However when I tried to register for the exam online it makes you pay up front for the exam. Anyone have any experience on how the military's ECE gets funded and the usual process? |
