Hello again,

Was looking at the Excelsior Biology BA and Health Sciences BA.

Possible to totally CLEP these out with the classes I have?

I'm not quite sure about completing a Biology or Health Science BA, but I do know where you can find excellent degree templates put together by Alissaroot:

In her post she links to a template for a BA:

Have you considered taking the Biology GRE? It, along with each GRE, is very difficult, and you would have to score well to begin to receive credit (since you already have four biology courses), but it is very inexpensive and would provide up to 30 credits at Excelsior only. More info on this excellent thread:

I don't think it is possible to complete a Biology degree with only testing unless you use the GRE. (They are administered in April, October, and November, by the way.)

I hope some of this is helpful! I'm sure others with more knowledge on the subject will chime in.

Are any of your courses at the 300-level or above?

Would you be amenable to a degree in liberal arts instead? If you just want the fastest thing, a B.S. in Liberal Studies would be faster than a B.A. in Biology.

If your heart is set on Biology, I second Ruddigore's suggestion to consider taking the next GRE, and using it at Excelsior or COSC.

The Health Sciences degree at EC would be more time-consuming, because some of the required courses are either hard to find or offered intermittently.

Courses at the 300/400 level are the hardest to get through exams, so check your course codes! The more Upper Level (UL) courses you have among your current credits, the easier it will be to get any degree.

Alissa is exactly right that a BS in Liberal Studies would be fastest. It has more flexibility with what you can use for your degree. (For example, for a BA you'll need 60 LL and 30 UL Arts & Sciences credits.)

Yes. COSC only offers 18 credits for subject GREs, but for the 40th%tile, whereas EC gives up to 30, but it's harder to get the score for that many credits (generally ~80th%tile for 30 credits).

Hope you find exactly what degree you want,
R.

Our very own Sunshine has recently completed a BS in Biology at Excelsior through a combination of exams and classes. She posted her degree plan here:

You don't list your course codes, but at TESC you might be a good ways toward a Natural Science & Mathematics degree. With TESC you can get a BA with less then 30 Upper level credits and they give Upper level credits for more exams
