Ok, so this is probably a silly question, but my brain is so overloaded this week, I just can't think clearly. I'm getting ready to apply to grad school for an MS in Healthcare Admin / Mgmt. I have completed my BSLS at EC and will complete my BS in Healthcare Mgmt at EC in Sept. I was going to do an MBA w/ a specialization in healthcare admin /mgmt, but have decided my interests lie more with the courses offered in the sole MS program. I would like to add some business related exams such as micro, macro, business law etc and I'm not sure if I would be better off to wait and have the scores sent to the grad school so they show up on that transcript or if I should have them sent to EC before I graduate in Sept. I would think they would be more applicable to the grad school transcript, since this is most likely the transcript an employer would want to see. I'm trying to avoid having to produce multiple transcripts if they are not asked for by an employer, but I don't know if the grad school will accept undergrad credits and post them to the transcript if they are not part of the program of study. Any thoughts or suggestions? Has anyone done this? I just thought it would look good to show some extra business courses along with the MS. Thanks in advance for your help clearing up my foggy brain! I'm sure there is some logical way this should be done, but darn if I can see the forest for the trees this week!

If you can do it without a graduation delay, ABSOLUTELY send them to be a part of your EC transcript. That way, you are showing credit earned. If they are outside of an earned degree, then the grad school gets to give you the decision on if the credit is or isn't earned. NOT a good thing.

I had a similar question as you, so I called the school. The courses can still be applied to your transcript "below the degree line." DSSTs will still show up as letter grades.
If you are trying to get them as part of your program, you'd have to ask your adviser. My guess is it may result in a graduation delay, but I could be wrong. I highly doubt grad schools will care what transcript the courses are on, provided the school is accredited. Several MBA programs I called said I could just send community college transcripts to them. Most students applying to grad school have earned their bachelor's degrees years ago, and many of them still need to complete prereq courses. Point being, grad schools likely have a sensible system that doesn't make you go back and earn another undergrad degree so you can include a few more courses.
You may also consider the Excelsior credit bank so you can continue adding courses after degree conferral. It costs a little, but it eliminates the headache of ordering 14 new transcripts every time you want to show all of your work.

I agree with them; you should be able to do this through Excelsior.
Also, it is my understanding that even after your degree has been conferred, it is possible to add new credits earned to your EC transcript (for a fee, no credit bank needed). As Daniel said, these new credits would be below the degree line on the transcript. That makes it very convenient to continue learning.

I think Danielle and I are seeing this the same way but through 2 different sides of the coin. I just posted a thread where University of Illinois Chicago SPECIFICALLY required that my English Comp CLEP not only be on my undergrad transcript, but that TESC must have awarded me 6 credits- or else I was going to have to enroll in each of those classes. In other words, my CLEP only counted if it was part of a RA BA. If it was only on my College Board transcript, they were not going to take it.
Now, this is probably unusual- and in my other grad school applications (and my husbands) this has never been brought up. So, that's why my answer is "yes, but as long as it doesn't delay graduation." I mean, odds are, that your grad schools will take the credit- however, if you can get anything inside of your grad date, then I think it's just extra security to do so.

You could also do micro and marco through Straighterline and have them transcribed at Fort Hays. That way if there is any question about a college accepting your credits you will have them on a real transcript not just on a college boards transcript.
