Dsst - stassolo2 - 03-04-2010 Just a real quick question. DSST is it as good as clep or better. I see allot of people take DSST courses. I am a clep type of person so far I have taken 7. Should I be looking in to DSST in order to get my BA? Dsst - TMW2010 - 03-04-2010 The DSSTs are tests, just like the CLEP. They're set up similarly as well. Check out the DSST site. Dsst - P00057870 - 03-04-2010 Many of us like them for a couple of reasons: CLEP has 5 answers to choose from, DSST has 4. CLEP gives you 90 minutes, DSST 2 hours. Some of the older DSSTs are recognized by the Big 3 colleges as grades not just pass/fail, which can affect your GPA. Then, it is just which subjects you are interested in or need for the degree you are pursuing. Hope this helps clarify this. Other than that -- a test is a test, IC has study material, study hard, take the test, get 3 credits fast and at a reasonable cost. :coolgleam: Dsst - andrewlmorris - 04-24-2010 Some schools (like mine) don't accept or recognize DSST tests. My reason for taking more DSST is CLEP has only 2, 300 level (business) exams; DSST has 12, 300 and 1, 400 level (business/social sciences/humanities) exams. Hey BB, Where can I find a listing of the exams levels. Dsst - bricabrac - 04-24-2010 jacanyardie Wrote:Hey BB, Are you enrolled at TESC? The attached CLEP-DSST list was last updated July 2009. FYI, all the new grades are not captured on the list (2 digit to 3 digit). Also check the DSST website; they have released new exam(s). Current TECEP exam list: http://www.tesc.edu/listalltecep.php Dsst - jacanyardie - 04-25-2010 bricabrac Wrote:Are you enrolled at TESC? Thanks a lot BB ....lost the links when I did a factory recovery of my computer. Dsst - bricabrac - 04-25-2010 jacanyardie Wrote:Thanks a lot BB Ugghh! Hate computer problems...had my share last year with brand new dell :ack:.. Good Luck with your computer! I checked the site after posting the list...I may be wrong but it seems there was only 1 new dantes exam released: Business Ethics and Society. In one of the threads members mentioned TESC accepts it as Business Society (BUS-311) or a Business Ethics elective (not sure what that means). If interested in that exam contact advising and ask them if they can approve it for your program and ask them since its new if they would let you know where it would fit? I've found when I give them the ball they usually come back with a better suggestion than I would have asked for -just my experience. Dsst - jacanyardie - 04-25-2010 [QUOTE=bricabrac]Ugghh! Hate computer problems...had my share last year with brand new dell :ack:.. Good Luck with your computer! BB I just had to do a factory restore for a friend's Dell......I called them to purchase a restore CD which cost about $15-20, and they try to sell me over $180 worth of stuff I did not need. Make a back-up copy of your restore files, because my friend's restore files were lost/corrupted, and this seems to be common with new no disk required recovery options. |
