Can I use the Princeton Review’s AP US History prep book to prepare for the US History I CLEP exam?

My guess is that the text is probably good but check to see if the practice exams include the later material fro US History 2. The AP exams are different in that they cover exploration to now so the practice exams would not help you gauge readiness. I would get the REA book, even an older used copy first.

I would recommend that you purchase a one-month subscription to IC and utilize the amazing forum and flashcards provided. Along with extra wiki searches, that is how I passed with an A.

I've heard good things about Princeton Review.

I would definitely reccommend also using IC flashcards.
For US History I, I studied using both the REA study guide and my IC subscription. I did well on the exam, so it worked well for me. =]

Pre-Study-Prep: Obtain or set up whatever materials I will need to study (IC Flashcards, REA Books, Standard Deviants Videos, Pass-Your-Class Guides, and Petersons Practice Exams.

Week One: Begin to read books, review flashcards, watch videos. Call your test center and make an appointment in advance as they sometimes require a few weeks advance notice)

Week Two: Re-read books, review flashcards, watch videos Take 1-2 practice exams

Week Three: Continue to review all materials, take additional/final practice exams. You should be passing these with room to spare. Take real exam at end of the week and PASS.

Note you should have at this point already acquired pre-study-prep materials for your next exam so as not to waste time.[/COLOR]

Glad to find this - I'm going to be doing US History I at the end of this month. I've been using flaschcards from this site: Student Resources

Anyone who has taken the test, do you think these are adequate or should I find different ones?
