Macro tomorrow - studenttoday - 12-21-2009 Hello All... I'm taking MACRO tomorrow. I have had a 42, 44 on my REA exams...I know these are reflectors of the actual exam, so I'm wondering if I have any chance on passing tomorrow...Any encouragement would be GREAT!!! YIKES!!! This is my first time learning about MACRO....... Macro tomorrow - JanusthePhoenix - 12-21-2009 I have heard that the REA tests are harder than the actual exam, if that helps. If you're that uncertain, it may be better to reschedule and give yourself another week or so. Perhaps you could try the practice test in the CLEP study guide and see if you do better. Or you could try the "damn the torpedoes" approach like I usually do. Macro tomorrow - Basket Weaver - 12-22-2009 Good Luck and let us know how you did! If you can reschedule, consider doing so until you pass a practice test; otherwise, good luck! Macro tomorrow - studenttoday - 12-23-2009 Thanks for the advice. I'm trying to squeeze this exam and another by January 18th. So I took it and FAILED. I was so sad. However, I was trying to teach myself this whole subject and it's contents in less than 4 weeks. I have NEVER been exposed to macro before....So, I either will have to wait 6 months or try a DANTES exam in Cultural Geography (again another subject which I am NOT familiar with). Thanks though. I had 4 weeks in between my last CLEP and this one. However, Thanksgiving and my sister in law's wedding fell in between there. Realistically I had about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks to study and TEACH myself this concept. I was not familiar with economics at all. So, I agree with another member...you can't just memorize - you have to COMPLETELY understand the concepts fully. I read the whole Demystified book and read/did the practice tests of REA (42, 44 scores) and reviewed flashcards from IC. However, I came into this COLD turkey. So, I didn't pass (39).... I was very disappointed because I WORKED very hard. But the test had many questions harping on the same few concepts...So, if you're brain is not completely wrapped around them, it's easy to get confused. However, if you have a general knowledge already, I'm sure you would have a MUCH better chance than I did!! Macro tomorrow - operalady - 12-23-2009 I understand how you feel after a failed exam. How sad. We have been there, trying to squeeze in an exam before a holiday or vacation or something. Knowing when you are ready is probably one of the toughest parts of CLEP testing. What credits do you need? Macro tomorrow - 15%Luck - 12-23-2009 There's no failure except in no longer trying and it sounds like you're getting back in for another test so my hat is off to you studenttoday. You did not fail for lack of trying! I don't know whether or not you know this or if it even matters to you but I believe college board will give you your second chance at a test you failed for free. You will still have to pay your testing center fee but the $72 CLEP fee will not be charged. Gotta wait 6 months though. Think of it as 6months of prep time (if this isn't the case one of you guys with more wisdom please correct me) Macro tomorrow - studenttoday - 12-24-2009 Thanks...I will have to check into the College Board "pass fee" for failing one test. That would be a HUGE blessing!!! I need either a geography or macroeconomics course...So, I'm not sure whether to wait 6 months or try another test. I have to take these tests in order to obtain my licensure in teaching (through a master's level program). Macro tomorrow - Shawn A - 12-25-2009 My 18 year old passed both Micro and Macro. Although he read Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell as part of his Home School curriculum, his advice was to study the Economics Cliff Notes. That was the only "study" resource he used.
