What is on the College Mathematics CLEP? What do I need to study? The flip cards on Instacert are asking me definition etc. Is the test on math problems or on memorization of terms?
Also, I don't want to go through the cards on this if its math problems, id rather just refresh by studying an SAT book or something. So what topics are on it?

This link gives you an outline on whats on the test. You can wikipedia/google explanations.
The instantcert admins wouldnt make those flashcards if they didnt have relevence to the exam. Study the flashcards and check out the specific forums to read more about the College Mathematics CLEP.

I thought IC was a very good review, weird symbols aside. Granted, it was a bit slow, but certainly it has effective coverage. The SAT book might be enough. Try a practice test to get a feel for it.
There are three free Peterson's Tests online. A PDF of Peterson's CLEP Success is also floating around. I can't pinpoint the URL at the moment.

I noticed on another forum discussion, it was mentioned by several that there were fill in the blank questions on a version of the test. Does anyone know if the questions are asking for specific terms to fill in the blank (ie A number that can only be divided by itself and one is called a _______number.) OR do they mean you have to fill in a number in answer to a mathmatical problem?
Also: I have read several accounts where it is said the test taker does a "brain dump" on the scrap paper as soon as the timer is started. Supposedly for college math it consists of memorized formulas, etc. Does anyone know what formulas should be memorized for COLLEGE MATH??????

Just do the math and you'll be fine.

Formulas are not as important for College Math as they are for College Algebra. I did a brain dump at the beginning (permutations & combinations, various polynomial formulae, etc.), but ended up not using but one or two of the equations I wrote down, if that. More than anything, the brain dump relaxes you for the rest of the test.
Do know concepts: you probably won't be tested on the definitions of them, but you will be expected to know how to apply them.

I personally would simply read through the Comex guide for the CLEP College Math test (you can get it on Amazon). It covers everything you need to know to pass in one short book. And it doesn't have any extra info that you don't need.
