Update On Straighterline - Good News - frankiebleyes - 09-24-2009
Folks, I've been hitting my head against the wall on this one because the registrar's office confirmed to me that the contract ended this month. I THEN CALLED THE PROVOST OFFICE AT FT. HAYS LATE THIS AFTERNOON, HE WAS OUT BUT ABOUT TEN MINUTES AGO I GOT A PHONE CALL FROM JANICE TAYLOR, FT HAYS VIRTUAL COLLEGE (WHO ACTUALLY HANDLES THE STRAIGHTERLINE STUDENTS FOR FT HAYS) TO SEE THAT THEIR CREDITS ARE APPLIED AT FT HAYS. SHE STATES "NO WE ARE NOT GOING TO STOP ACCEPTING STRAIGHTERLINE, THE CONTRACT HAS BEEN RENEWED, THERE WAS SOME DOUBT THIS SPRING, BUT WE ARE COMMITTED TO AT LEAST ANOTHER YEAR (NEXT SUMMER) BEFORE THE CONTRACT COMES UP FOR RENEWAL AGAIN. SO ANYONE HERE TAKING STRAIGHERLINE, WANTING TO TAKE STRAIGHTERLINE OR THINKING ABOUT STRAIGHTERLINE SHOULD NOW FEEL SAFE TO DO SO. SORRY THAT I MISSPOKE, BUT I WAS ONLY RELAYING WHAT I HAD BEEN TOLD. I HAVE HAD PREVIOUS DEALINGS WITH JANICE TAYLOR AND KNOW THAT SHE IS THE RIGHT PERSON TO HAVE THIS INFORMATION AND SHE CALLED ME, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. SO HEADS UP FOR TAKING STRAIGHTERLINE.
