Help! COSC Cornerstone satisfy my Charter Oak math? - Frivrit - 09-17-2009

I'm wrapping up my CLEPs and am beginning to think that I may, after all earn a BA! I never thought it'll ever seem attainable!

Here's my question: I'm doing my BA with COSC. I have so far taken no CLEPs that fulfill the math requirements I know nothing of algebra, statistics, calculus etc. I'm a little (a lot) intimidated by the College Mathematics. I know from experience that passing CLEPs means covering a very large amount of new material. I'm trying to think of ways I can skip digging all the way through math. I happen to like math type subjects and hope one day to come back and do the CLEP. For now, I have to see my BA.

Can I fulfill my math requirement by taking the Charter Oak cornerstone course in this concentration? This would take care of two things in one shot - the cornerstone and the math. I know CLEP may seem simpler, but given that I like to be well prepared for tests AND have no prior knowledge of math, CLEP is a bigger project than a guided course.

Thanks everyone! I've been following this great forum for a while. It's been a tremendous help.

I found your answer because I was in the same boat and this worked for me.

StraighterLine

This website has a agreement with my university and COSC as well. It costs $99 a month and you can cancel anytime. I took college algerbra and my college took it. The college algerbra courses is only 5 tests and the homework is not required. Best of all you take the tests at home on your own computer.

So if you fill in the blanks im telling you you can have help from someone more gifted in mathematics, "I" completed this course in 2 days(5 hours total) and it transferred on my transcript as taking it from my university as college algerba as a "B". This puts clep and dantes to shame and I have taken many of both. COSC has the same agreement as my school. good luck. Just remember to cancel after the adviser sends your grade.
