TESC BA Humanities graduation question - teeds01 - 09-16-2009

I applied for TESC and was accepted in 2007 - I didn't do much and wasted my money. I did however get my degree evaluation.
I have transferred in 84 credit hours with 36 remaining.
I'm missing:
9 social science credit hours
Eng Comp I (3)
Eng Comp II (3)
Mathematics (3)
6 GE credits
3 liberal Studies Credits
3 Free Elective credits

1. I speak fluent spanish - took the practice CLEP and got a 68. (12)
2. I'm taking (CLEP)
a. Intro to Psych (3)
b. Intro to Soc (3)
c. College Mathematics (3)
d. Macroecon (3)
e. Freshman English Comp with Essay (6)
f. Business Law (3)
3. I'm taking a local English Comp II course

Trying to graduate ASAP (like the rest of the world)
I'm NOT currently admitted into TESC.
I'm trying to complete this degree the cheapest way possible also.

What pitfalls should I look out for with TESC?

Thanks in advance!

Why are you taking English 102 if you are taking the English Comp w/essay that will give you first semester and second semester english credit with TESC?

I didn't know that - I thought it only qualified for one course. Thanks - any other suggestions?

Since TESC takes raw transcript directly from FEMA, do three FEMA courses (can be done in one day) and put those towards your free electives - and the price is right - free!!!!!!

Also the Analyzing and Interpreting clep exam is worth 6 credits and it is applied under the Liberal Studies portion of the TESC under my evaluation. That would be 3 for liberal studies and 3 for free electives. I didn't study for this test, took it cold and did fairly well in the sixties. If you read well and can interpret what you have read, this one is an easy six hours.

Thanks for the suggestion - where do I find these FEMA courses that you're speaking of?
Thanks again for the great suggestions!

Heres the FEMA link:

Emergency Management Institute - FEMA Independent Study Program

Also the College Math Clep is worth 6 credits so if you only need 3 the rest should go into general electives.

Well, one question- are you trying to earn your degree in humanities or find a test to take in humanities? The humanities major just changed last month, and now requires upper level credit  which means a new evaluation when you re-apply. I think some of your Spanish should be upper level, any chance that you'd like to try French and/or German?

My degree was suppose to be a "general" BA. A lot of my credits are 3000 and above. I actually struggle more with paying attention to lower division credits! what changes were made in the BA requirements?
