Double Major at EC - Advice Needed - alexiega - 08-17-2009 All, I am planning to enroll at EC to pursue a degree in Psychology. I have CLEP and DSST credits to transfer as well as B&M credits. I as am thinking about educational and career plans beyond by undergrad degree, I am considering getting a double major in Psych and Bio. My question is, is it possible to get a double major from EC? If so, are you awarded a full bachelor's for each, and do they allow you to use some of the same credits towards the earning of both degrees? Also, I plan on taking the GRE subject tests for BIO, and Psych in October. Can anyone suggest any good texts/sites for study (outside of general CLEP books)? Thanks in advance for any advice you can share. Alexie Double Major at EC - Advice Needed - MaieJaie - 08-17-2009 Yes, EC allows double majors. No triple majors, though. The EC Liberal Arts Catalog states, "You are limited to two majors" (in the current edition, see page 23, left column, last line). I'm not 100% positive, but I believe that you only have to fulfill Research & Writing in the Major for one of the two majors. After all, LA 490-495 are considered duplicative of one another, anyway. Can anyone confirm or deny this definitively? Double Major at EC - Advice Needed - alexiega - 08-20-2009 Thanks MaieJaie, i appreciate the information. |
