I am about to start studying for the american gov't clep. I'm trying to find the best book(s) to use. Do you have any ideas of which study guide (besides for IC) would be the best? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!!

Use the free peterson's practice exams. Check the Specific exam feedback forum.

I used the "Cliff's Quick Review" and the Official CLEP Study Guide... that was all. I am very familiar with government, so that was enough. If it's new to you, I'd recommend the REA book... I didn't use it for government, but they're always good resources.

I used the Standard Deviants DVDs to introduce me to the subject, and IC for almost everything else. IC's section for American Government is one of the best I have used.

If you look up all the unfamiliar concepts, agencies, etc. on Wikipedia, you will be fine on the real test.

I used to work in politics so when I scored 82/100 on the peterson's I wasn't surprised. I'm taking this one tommorow so I'll let you know how it goes.

Passed american government with a 65. I took it pretty much cold save for the peterson's practice test. This test shouldn't be too hard if you follow politics, read up on the supreme court, the house, the senate, and the constitution.

Nice work! Congrats on your pass!

Thanks man. There's no better way to thumb one's nose at the educational establishment than to obtain what they offer (a bachelor's degree) without suffering through their system. Big Grin

Great job. American government has the potential to be a tricky test, but you cruised right through it!
