EC CD-ROM courses - pacing - Scholar Interrupted - 07-06-2009 I've gathered from some of the other posts on the subject that EC's CD-ROM courses are structured much the same way as their online courses except without the discussion board component. At least I think that's the case. I'm currently taking EC Historiography online. The endless reading and writing are a huge burden. No way could I handle two of these babies at the same time. My question: Do the CD-ROM courses have some sort of weekly assignment to replace the discussion board, or is it just the four papers and two essay exams? I'm trying to figure out whether I would be able to handle two CD-ROM courses in one term. If I can work ahead and stagger my efforts, I think I could handle it. But if there are weekly assignments and I have two papers due on the same day every couple of weeks for 15 weeks, then I'm not so sure how that's going to work. Who's got experience with this? EC CD-ROM courses - pacing - Scholar Interrupted - 08-17-2009 I wrote to the liberal arts advising team and got a response that makes me feel very comfortable about registering for more than one EC CD-ROM course at a time. Generally, your grade will be based on two written projects and two [unproctored] essay exams, equally weighted (25% each), and no other obligations. You and your instructor agree at the beginning of the course on when you will turn in your assignments. You can complete the required work at any time within the term. Hope this helps someone who was as mystified as I was. EC CD-ROM courses - pacing - MISin08 - 08-20-2009 Hi, Scholar, Thanks for posting the answer. Phillip |
