i was looking into ACE approved courses and came across PADI International, Inc. (if you don't already know: PADI International, Inc., is a professional organization that focuses on the training of scuba divers and scuba diving instructors.)
according to ACE, most or all of the PADI SCUBA programs have been accepted for credit at one point in time, so if you have a certification through PADI I would check it out

it's only worth credit if you were certified between 1/1/1978-9/30/2006 from what i can see on the ACE website. which is good for me since i was certified in 2004.
it's only worth 1 semester hour in Physical Education or Recreation, but thats 1 more credit towards a degree i didn't have before
so as of right now, i'm waiting to see if my open water scuba certification is approved or denied by ACE, i'll let everyone know when i get word back

Can't speak for all schools, but UMUC definitely gives credit for PADI courses.
I actually got 10 credits just from PADI.
I am a dive instructor so I had to did all of the basic courses plus some extras...like divemaster and instructor.
Here is what I got:
PADI 0001 Advanced Open Water Diver 1.00 T
PADI 0004 Divemaster 2.00 T
PADI 0008 Rescue Diver 1.00 T
PADI 0020 Enriched Air Diver 1.00 T
PADI 0002 Deep Diver 1.00 T
PADI 0005 Instructor Development 3.00
PADI 0024 Underwater Photographer 1.00 T
Not too bad for bonus credits...

It lists the credits per course and you use the link at the bottom to fill out 'transcript' request. Then they transferred like any other credit.

You can rack up a lot of credits if you have several of these certifications, but check with your school before putting these credits into your plan/roadmap. EC didn't accept mine for the General Business degree.
