TESC- BS in HLS - debraecm - 06-05-2009 Hello Everyone, Does anyone know of any online accelerated courses in Homeland Security? Note that cost is a huge factor. Thank you for your time. Debra TESC- BS in HLS - gregjohnson - 06-06-2009 They are called FEMA classes- free, online, open book. I have been told by a TESC adviser that more than the usual 27 credits may be used for the HLS degree. Please verify with your adviser. I hope this helps. However I'm now looking for classes to fulfill the area of study. Thanks for the reply! TESC- BS in HLS - Rainydays12 - 06-08-2009 Not sure what your budget is, but American Public Univ. offers HLS at $250/unit (includes textbooks) Bachelor of Arts in Homeland Security Excelsior offers HLS courses, but again may be pricey... https://www.excelsior.edu/Excelsior_College/My_Excelsior_College/Publications/Liberal_Arts_Catalog.pdf Do you need upper level or lower level courses or both? BUT I'm looking for both. I just changed my major to BS-HLS. TESC- BS in HLS - Rainydays12 - 06-09-2009 There are a decent amount of classes out there, but none are cheap. I searched LSU, BYU, EKU, numerous community colleges. Have you checked community colleges in your state? I wasn't sure where you lived. That may be a start. OR- I hate to say it, but do you need a HLS degree? Can you do Criminal Justice or something more broad like Liberal Studies? I just cant seem to find many HLS courses (per TESC requirements) online. I didn't want to get stuck taking them at TESC. Oh well time to move on. ![]() TESC- BS in HLS - soupbone - 07-03-2009 debraecm Wrote:RainyDs - At this point I may look into changing it to LS. I took one Homeland Security course through TESC and my only complaint is the 12 weeks it took to finish. Oher than that the courses are pretty good. I too would rather have the option of accelerated or testing out equivalent but I don't think they exist. ![]() TESC- BS in HLS - debraecm - 07-05-2009 soupbone Wrote:What did you decide Debra? I have all ready started taking classes at Penn Foster. The down side is that it cost me 15 credits. Oh well! |
