BC students can CLEP science and take lab only - P00057870 - 04-18-2009

Just got this information from my Broward College counselor that we may CLEP sciences on their approved list and just take the Lab with them to work toward AA, for going on to state colleges at least.

1. As long as you CLEP a science that matches our course and prefix, you can take the lab. For example, BSC1005L has a prerequisite or corequisite of BSC1005; so if you CLEP BSC1005 - General Biology - you*can take BSC1005L class. The following link lists the CLEP courses and our BC equivalents:

You can also see the CLEP exam descriptions here:

*
2. The following link has the AA general education requirements, and you can see all of our science courses and labs organized by biological, physical, and lab:

Hope this helps someone else.

I would just caution someone considering this for a health/medical sciences pre-req or for transfer to somewhere besides the big 3 or this specific college, that this might not work. Often, the class and lab are co-requisites of each other.
