This forum has a search feature...give it a try - Joel - 03-18-2009 This is definitely a pet peeve of mine...there are so many duplicate threads and requests for information that's already here because people don't take a couple minutes to use the search feature. In fact, the 2nd sticky in this section say 'before asking a question, USE THE SEARCH FEATURE' Aaargh! Ok...I'm calm again This forum has a search feature...give it a try - thatbrian - 03-18-2009 I couldn't agree more! This forum has a search feature...give it a try - Lindagerr - 03-18-2009 This is a pet peeve of mine too. Noone wants to think for themself they want someone to make it east for them. This forum has a search feature...give it a try - annegirl - 03-18-2009 I love using the search feature....then I don't have to wait for a response! Instant gratification. This forum has a search feature...give it a try - alissaroot - 03-19-2009 Agreed. Some of the older threads are a goldmine of good information. I learned a LOT by reading older threads. This forum has a search feature...give it a try - lmech - 03-19-2009 I was also thinking this the other day. Mostly, I notice many new members with questions like.* How do I get started? How does this work? etc.. It might be a good idea to start a listing for beginning members only. It could go over many of these repeated topics & inform them how to use the search feature also Just a thought This forum has a search feature...give it a try - YokotaJo - 03-19-2009 I am on another totally unrelated board (a secret Space A board that lists the upcoming Space Available flights from each base and how many seats they will have etc) and every time a new person asks "so how do I get from xxx to xxx" a very nice post is made saying "the FAQ has all the details you need about xxx, I was there last year and it was lovely, welcome to the board and happy travels and be sure to tell us how your first trip works out". Nice and to the point and the same info is not posted over and over. OH ...FYI..you think people get worked up from time to time about issues on this board-- you should see all the retired military folks and what they get worked up over and how worked up they get !!!!! I get several PM's that are "can you send me all your stuff and come to my house and tell me what to study and will you take the test for me". Well, maybe not quite that direct but almost! I always email back something like welcome to the board, you will love it here, take some time to read as many posts as you can, there is lots of info about xxx test on the Specific Feedback board --it is worth the $10 five times over, good luck and be sure to post on the board what your plans are. I love to see the new folks joining us on the dark side and hear their great stories and get to give them our sage advice....but meet us half-way: think about it a bit, search a bit, read every post you can read and then post us what you think you want to do. We will tell them if we think it is a great idea or they are wacked out of their minds !! This forum has a search feature...give it a try - morfritz - 03-19-2009 I've been tempted to several times just email/pm people directly for questions, but it is true, just search a keyword and there is so much information. I love how threads keep evolving too. For example FEMA credits. Once they were accepted here, then they weren't. In today's fast paced society you just have to take them time and do research yourself. I might be guilty too, but I am getting better. This forum has a search feature...give it a try - Ruddigore - 03-19-2009 The search feature is probably much more informative than starting a new thread. This forum has a search feature...give it a try - thatbrian - 03-19-2009 That is a very good point. Ruddigore Wrote:The search feature is probably much more informative than starting a new thread. |
