My ALEKS course has been added to my transcript at Charter Oak. It took approximately four weeks from the time I placed the request with ACE. This is the way it looks.

ALEK 0004 College Algebra w/Trigonometry P - 3.00 3.00

I had wondered if it would say ALEX. FYI, I also completed Beginning Algebra and Intermediate Algebra but Charter Oak only accepts College Algebra or Intro to Statistics as a minimum math requirement.

Has anyone dealt with ALEX and Thomas Edison or Excelsior. I'm wondering how the ALEX credit is transcripted and what the minimum math requirements are for those schools?

Congrats Delania but why didn't you also complete Precalculus and Statistics in ALEKS? Those may transfer over.

I'm not a math person so I squeaked by with the minimum requirement. I emailed my adviser about other ALEKS math classes and received this answer.

The two lowest level classes that you may consider for the math requirement are "College Algebra" and "Introduction to Statistics."

I haven't declared an area of concentration yet but I have corresponded with my adviser about different options. Here's a reply that other folks might find helpful.

"Our Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Human Services/Applied Behavioral Science: Psychology concentrations all require 3 credits in Research Methodology. The prerequisite requirement for Research Methodology is 3 credits in Statistics. So essentially, they do require statistics.

Our Liberal and Individualized Studies concentrations do not require the statistics or the research methodology.

This means I haven't ruled out Statistics yet. I just don't want to take it unless I absolutely have to.

Delania, how long did it take you to complete each of the courses using ALEKS? Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, and College Algebra.

Trying going throught this first before attempting ALEKS for statistics, maybe it will help:
