I need to take biology w/lab and I see you can clep test this course. my question is, how does the lab part work with the clep test?

The biology CLEP is a nonlab course.

It depends on your school. None of the big three offer lab credit (only 6 hours total), but some schools grant an additional 2 hours of lab credit. One example that I know of is the Wyoming University system. Check your school here:

Just seach for your school, then click on the SAT, AP, CLEP link. Of course, your school catalog/web site probably also has the info if you search for it.

I did the biol clep and am now taking biol lab at a state uni. Some schools don't require the lecture course to take the lab. Look around at what schools in your area offer.
