It's Go Time! If I pass this exam I graduate! - jayAusTex - 02-09-2009 I have been studying for the DSST Principles of Statistics exam (on and off) for almost three months now. This was one requirement I really wanted to take in a class room setting at my university but due to bad timing and scheduling issues I could never get into any of the courses. I must take the exam now in order for my score to be reported in time for spring graduation. Simply stated if I pass this exam I get to graduate in April and if I fail I will have to either re-test in 6 months or try and get into the course at my university whenever they feel like offering it again. Either way it would postpone my graduation by months and maybe even a year! So no pressure here LOL! Oh, for a little extra pressure I have not failed any of the CLEPS or DSST exams that I have taken. It's a track record I'm proud of but one which I feel is in serious jeopardy with this exam. Not to mention the lose of $80! Anyway, I am now scheduled to take the exam tomorrow at noon (February 10, 2009) and do not feel very confident about it but there is no going back now. There are some areas I feel fairly confident in such as probabilities, standard deviation, and null hypothesis, not to mention most of the definitions on the IC flashcards but still I canât help but wonder if itâs enough. On the bright side I put off a college degree for over 20 years so whatâs another few months going to mean. Though it sure be great to come back here in three weeks and write my, âIâm doneâ thread. I know itâs been a while since I posted here so I just wanted to give an update and see if I could generate a little karma from the IC community. Iâll post my results, pass or fail, along with my feedback in about three weeks. That is the average time it took me to get my other two DSST exam scores back so hopefully it will only be three weeks. Three very, very long weeks LOL! Stop wondering. If you're taking the test tomorrow the thing you need more than anything else at this point is confidence. I passed this exam and I never did fully understand null hypothesis--so if you are fairly confident with the items you listed I would be shocked if you didn't pass. Good luck! It's Go Time! I am to take my Biology CLEP on the 21st and if I don't pass it, no graduating in May. Stats is odd anyway, go in positively and you will do fine. Sally btw- I live in Austin too! It's Go Time! If I pass this exam I graduate! - jayAusTex - 02-09-2009 Wow, such a small world Sally. Biology eh? As much as I find that subject interesting I think I will stick with my dreaded stats exam LOL! Thanks for the encouragement and that of everyone else as well. Thank you all so much for the kind words. I'm still studying and will give it my best shot tomorrow and get back here as soon as I get my results. Thanks again. Jay sallykod Wrote:I am in the same boat, Jay!
