Question on the English CLEP Essay - Ruddigore - 02-05-2009 I'm going to take the English CLEP with Essay a week from Friday. I was wondering if the essay portion works just like a normal computer with cut and paste, italicizing, and such. Or does it just allow typing and nothing else? Thanks. ![]() (I just love that green smiley face. As a rule, I'm not one for proliferating smileys as welfare checks, but that green smiley just beats every such figure that I have ever seen.) Question on the English CLEP Essay - annegirl - 02-05-2009 As I remember you could only type. There wasn't an italics option. I can't remember whether you could cut and paste or not. I'm leaning towards no (someone correct me if I'm wrong) One thing that really bugged me was there was no way to scroll other than highlighting the text and pulling down. That made it difficult to read through what I had written smoothly. Good luck on your test! (Yes I love the green smiley too)
Question on the English CLEP Essay - lwmcc - 02-05-2009 It's got very rudimentary cut/paste/insert functionality, no bold/italics. Think back to early, early WordStar days. Not pretty.... I think CollegeBoard has a demo app on their site that will give you an example of the interface. Question on the English CLEP Essay - thatbrian - 02-05-2009 Waiting for an answer to this one too. I'm taking it on Sat  Question on the English CLEP Essay - YokotaJo - 02-05-2009 I just took the Eng Comp with Essay a few days ago and it allowed me to cut and paste which was a good thing once I went back and re-read my rantings. Be sure to allow at least 3-4 mins at the end to be sure that the essay is complete. I was stuck a bit and thought I might run out of time. I did not want the reviewer to think that not only was it not so great, but it was not even completed. I forced something down and then was able to go back and move a few thoughts around at the end. I fixed a few typing errors but during the last 60 seconds I did not attempt to make any big changes -- I did not want to get stuck in the middle of fixing a word and then time out. Practice having an opening line and some transistion sentences that could be applied to almost any topic. Good Luck and watch the clock on this one! Question on the English CLEP Essay - cookderosa - 02-06-2009 Yes, I hoped for nice spell check option, but no-go hilarious |
