Excelsior question - abird701 - 01-31-2009

So I applied to Excelsior and below is the unofficial eval. I got. I am currently attending UofPhoenix (BSBM), but am concerned with their reputation, which is why I applied to Excelsior. I am currently taking an EBUS 400 at UofP, which I think would satisfy the 3 upper level credits. So my question is would I be able to fulfill the remaining credit with FEMA courses at Excelsior?

Unofficial Summary - Bachelor of Science Liberal Studies (BSL)

The fourteen applied professional I am sure you can use the fema for those, and I think there is one fema that will work for Gen. Ed., "Effective Communication", but I am not 100% sure. I think you can do this all with fema, but Excelsior does require that they be transferred on a FCC or CCC transcript, so it won't be free. I hope this helps answer your question!

I had Effective Communication ( transcript from Fredrick CC - costs $60 per credit hour) accepted at Excelsior as 1 credit in Humanities (Arts & Sciences).

You could also complete these 2 NFA courses which you could get sent to Excelsior on an Ace transcript ( cost $40 for the transcript) Q318 & Q118. I believe these would count as Applied Professional credits.

Fire Service Supervision: Self Study (Q318)
Self-Study Course for Community Safey Educators (Q118)

One final thought, I would make sure your get these courses approved by an advisor before moving forward with your plan.
Also the EBUS course ( if it is a business course) might transfer over to Exclesior as applied professional (AP). If that is the case you would still need to complete the 3 UL Arts & Sciences requirement.

If the EBUS course counts as AP credits those 3 UL AP credits would be subtracted from the LL AP credits needed as UL can replace LL but LL can not replace UL.
