Human Growth and Development Clep - hindy1210 - 01-05-2009 any1 recently take this one? I feel like its just a ton of terms... any suggestions for studying? Thanks! Human Growth and Development Clep - lwmcc - 01-05-2009 Yes, I took this one a couple of months ago. If you've already taken Intro Psych, it's a bit easier since it expands on the Dev Psych portion on the wider Intro Psych, but it's definitely doable the other way around, too (i.e., HG&D, then Intro Psych.) For HG&D, I'd suggest having the Piaget and Erickson stages down cold - lots of questions on their stages on the test. To a lesser extent, you'll see Freud and Behavioral greats (Watson, Pavlov, etc.) questions. Also, get the biological/developmental phases down cold, especially the gestation/prenatal and early childhood stages, specifically when major physical/mental/language changes occur and when the average child is able to do a certain thing. It is a lot to cover, but it is definitely doable. Good luck! - Lia Human Growth and Development Clep - hindy1210 - 01-05-2009 thanks a ton Human Growth and Development Clep - YokotaJo - 01-06-2009 I am prepping for Human Growth & Dev now too. It is my first CLEP and my first jump back in to complete my BA in Psych. I am very sure that I am over studying but have set a date of Jan 15 to take the test. I want to come out strong on the first one just to be sure that I pass. I am using IC flashcards (love those) and have taken the first of three Peterson tests on line. I have the REA book and I am making my own notes and reviewing them. The first day I was really concerned about the terms etc but once I started writing them down and knowing them, I was on a roll. I made a master sheet of all the topics listed on the Specific Exam site and made sure that I knew what each one was. That was a morale booster. At least if I am studying I do not have to listen to my daughters play Guitar Hero 3 for the 100th time since Christmas. PM me and we can compare ideas on passing this test. |
