Attention Recent Excelsior Liberal Arts graduates-information needed - Joel - 01-03-2009

For those of you that have finished liberal arts degrees with Excelsior in the very recent past, can you share what your diploma and transcripts look like?

There have been posts in the past about what these documents looked like, but I'm looking for recent info.

I'm especially looking for input from those that finished the liberal studies option with no major.

Does your diploma just say Bachelor of Science, or does it also say Liberal Studies?

How does your transcript look? One previous poster said their transcript said:

Degree: Bachelor of Science
Program: Liberal Arts
Focus Area: Health Prof.
Psychology
Conferred: 11/16/07

Is that how they still list the information on the transcript?

Thanks!

I won't have my diploma in hand until next month, but I will definitely post about it once I do.

I was just an AS Liberal Arts graduate. My degree came in a purple vinyl degree holder with a nice diploma printed on yellow paper with black ink. The degree did not have any indication of the major or the focus.

The included transcript was basically on light purple paper with white EC logos in the background.

A decent diploma and transcript is all.

Your diplomas say it that way? Or your transcripts?

When are the graduations for Excelsior? Are they like TESC being every quarter? Do they also require completion of course work two months prior to graduation date? Any information would be helpful.

From what I understand, if your degree is a BA or AA it just states Bachelors or Associates of Arts, and not the Major.(Please correct me if I am wrong on this Guys)

If you have a Bachelors of Science or an Associates of Science it states what your Degree is along with your Major.

Hope this helps you out.

Hi Joel,

My diploma only shows "Bachelor of Science"... no mention of Liberal Studies as a major. No mention of Liberal Studies anywhere on my transcript either!

Thus, I list it as BS Liberal Arts on my resumes now to avoid confusion. People seem to understand it better that way anyway. When I say Liberal Studies, people always ask what that is. At my last interview (just before conferral), my interviewer asked what my major was.

Me: "Liberal Studies"
Him: <arches an eyebrow> "You mean Liberal Arts?"
Me: "Ah...yes. Liberal Arts."

(I got the job Wink)

My conferral wasn't recent though... any recent Liberal Studies grads out there that can shed some light on this?
