Do you still have to have two depths when you take the 'area of focus' route? Can anyone tell me more about it?

I am pretty sure the area of focus replaces the two depths. I forget the break down of credits needed for the area of focus. I will look it up when I get the chance and edit or repost.

EDIT:

Area of Focus Option

Students enrolled in the bachelor’s degree programs can complete an area of focus and have it listed on their transcript as a means of demonstrating a substantial amount of academic attention to a particular discipline. The requirement for an area of focus at the baccalaureate level is 21 semester hours, of which 6 must be at the upper-level. All credits must be in a single discipline. Students may consult with their academic advisors for area of focus options.

An area of focus replaces a depth, not both. Don't forget that one of your depths (or area of focus) must be in the arts & sciences.

One thing I might add, Excelsior offers a focus in Environmental Studies which I have not seen in their literature. I found out by talking to their advisors, one of my focuses is in that. Maybe they offer others as well that are not listed.

You still need a 2nd depth even if you have an area of focus. I have an area of focus in Admin/Mgmt Studies (business) and still needed a 2nd arts/sciences depth which was fulfilled with Psychology.

I stand corrected.

I received the same focus on my degree with them.
