English Comp - Johanna - 07-14-2006 If you breeze through the IC questions, is that enough to pass the exam? Thanks . . English Comp - fondue - 07-15-2006 Don't underestimate the essay portion. You get 45 minutes to bang out five paragraphs including your introductory paragraph, 2-3 body and your conclusion. If you're a slow typist, the time will fly by. Run through the IC questions and for do yourself a favor take a couple timed essays. Have someone else give you a topic and use program like notepad that doesn't have a spell checker. 6 credits are worth the extra effort. English Comp - sgloer - 07-15-2006 Yes, and I would recommend at least supplementing with the Collegeboard study guide's sample questions, just so you can get a feel for the different kinds of questions on the test. English Comp - Alaskan - 07-15-2006 Has anyone taken Freshman Comp w/Essay? I understand there are two required essays in this CLEP exam. Unfortunately, the University I'll be attending this Fall requires either the Freshman Comp w/Essay CLEP or two specific English-type courses (or their equivalent if transferring in credit). I don't have the time to sit through two such courses so I pretty much have to take the Freshman Comp w/Essay. If anyone is familiar with this exam, your observations would be much appreciated. Thanks, Alaskan |
