Does anyone know anything about the CLEP prep company "Pass Your Class"?
I ordered the $40 package for the CLEP Principles of Microeconomics exam from PYC and found that the study guide contains only about 20-30 pages worth of information (certainly not worth $40!). I thought that surely there would be more info.
In fact, the PYC website (Pass Your Class - Pass Your Clep Tests - Guaranteed!) states that you only need to use their study materials to get a passing grade. They also guaranteed that if you used their materials and failed the CLEP test, they would refund your order (they claim a 98% pass rate for their customers). This doesn't seem possible considering the limited study prep they supply. I looked at the study guide reviews on Amazon.com and almost all of the reviewers gave the company only one or two stars.
If anyone could share their experiences with PYC, I think we would all benefit.

I can speak from personal experience from the exact same exam(micro). That was the first exam I ever took back in February. Needed a 50 and I got a 49. Was PTC enough? Maybe, but since I joined IC shortly after that, I have passed all 15 or so test I have taken. I do have quite a few PTC study guides that I have used in addition to IC. They did give me a full refund though, no questions asked. I think I had to send them a copy of my failed exam. $20/month for IC is quite the bargain though, comparitively speaking.

Ah - wish I knew they were selling on eBay before I shelled out $40 for my copy (PDF no less) of PYC DSST Financial Accounting. Oh well... I have only bought this one guide, but for me, the practice questions were EXTREMELY helpful and, I have no doubt, gave that extra advantage for my "A".
I'm currently considering getting the Org Behavior version, to supplement IC. Any feedback?

I have used many of the Pass Your Class booklets and have found them to be quite helpful. DSST tests often have limited study material and PYC helps fill that gap. I have never relied on a single resource exclusively. Typically IC, REA, PYC and Standard Deviants videos, Dummies and Idiot's guides books and Princeton reviews along with anything else I can get my eyes on.

I had the pdf for Org Behavior from Pass Your Class-- it was a super quick read. I don't know if it really helped or not-- I think I could have received the same information from my other sources. It was a quick enough read that I finished it in a few minutes and moved on-- I did pass the test. I didn't use IC for the exam either.
I thought most of it was common sense and reminiscent of other business management courses.
Did it help-- maybe
Did it penalize me: No
Could you have received the same info other places: Sure but you would have needed to dig down and read more, etc

I recently started using PYC. I purchased: Intro to Comp & Substance Abuse. Scored well on both after only 5 days study, so I would say that they are a good investment.

All in all, I think PYC is relative-- just like IC really.
For some people, limited reading material is okay. Others find IC not all that much helpful (in terms of answering limited questions even with explanations may not give them enough foundation to answer other multiple choice questions).
I think it depends on your learning style. Personally, if the subject is very new-- I would NOT rely on just one resource.
