Almost done - adrianeraldo - 08-20-2026

Hello guys. First, I want to thank you all for the excellent information posted in this forum and for all the support I've received over the years.

To recap: I started building my credit base in 2017 with Study.com. And I have been on and off since then. This year, 2026, I decided to finish, so I finally enrolled at UMPI to do the residency. Fast forward to today: I finished the residency requirements for BLS Management, but I'm short ONE course for the upper-level requirement. I thought some of the courses I took for residency would also count toward the 24 UL credits I needed, but I was wrong. So now I need to take one more to finish my BLS.

I got 95% of my courses done at study but the upper level courses require to have the most expensive tier, I think is $280 per month, so I'm trying to avoid that if I can.

So my question today is: Can I find another UL course elsewhere? I heard Sophia charges a flat rate even for UL courses? Or does anyone have another idea?
As usual, thanks a lot, guys, for all the support, and have a great summer.
Adrian.

Have you completed the 30 credits residency requirements at UMPI? We don't know what courses you have completed. Sophia and Study have had their courses reevaluated recently. There are fewer UL courses now. Taking the course at UMPI is always an option. You can add an additional minor so you have several courses to take.

I don't see how you could have completed 95% of your courses at Study since UMPI requires 25% of the credits to be completed at UMPI.

You're right.
I meant to say that, of all the courses I had done, 95% were from Study.com and 5% from Sophia. The rest came from my asociate degree. All in all, I only took 10 courses at UMPI YP. After checking my degree progress, I realized that I still have one more UL to complete all the requirements to obtain the BLS.
I'm thinking I will take Microbiology from Sophia, but first I will check with my coach just in case.
Thanks for your reply.
Adrian

There are 2 Study.com plans.
1. College Saver $95
2. College Saver Pro $235

On the College Saver plan there are 2 courses I see:
Business 312: Advanced Operations Management
Business 350: Applied Business Data Analytics

They transfer into UMPI as 3XX. That's UL.

For Sophia courses such as:
Business Law
Business Ethics

They transfer into UMPI as 3XX. That's UL.

Thank you! I checked with UMPI, and they said Sophia Microbiology is fine.
At Study,  I have my account on pause but on the top tier. I tried to unpause, but if I do, they will charge me $235; I already tried. I also sent at least 4 emails to support, and I get generic responses. I was thinking of calling them, but then again, doing the Sophia microbiology fixes everything, right?

Sophia's Microbiology does come into UMPI as UL as BIO 3XX, so that will work too.

Generally, UMPI's database provides accurate information, but UMPI is in the process of updating how a lot of stuff transfers, so it's possible some things aren't accurate. For example, it says French I satisfies GLO 7, but French II hasn't been updated yet, so I wonder if French II would work for GLO 7 too.

RE: Almost done - bjcheung77 - 08-21-2026

Main thing is to make sure you complete the residency requirements at UMPI Your Pace, you can continue with Sophia.org if you currently have a membership going, there really isn't a need to switch to another provider unless you have to. You may want to attach an evaluation of the program you're in, and what is remaining, make sure to remove personal details.
