ETAMU / TAMUC accelerate ? - VanillaBean - 07-13-2026 Good afternoon, For those of you who have previously or are currently pursuing a bachelors through ETAMU (formerly TAMUC), how long did it take for your academic advisor to assign you a third course after completing the first two (having sent the completion emails and the request email to accelerate into the next course)? Years ago you were able to be assigned two classes at a time and you continued with two at a time so that if you were waiting on a professor to grade something you were able to work on another course. Now it's two at the beginning but once those first two are complete you are only able to be assigned one course and you must wait on the advisor to verify the completion emails and then assign you the next course. This new method of only having one course and then being down for 3-4 days due to it being a weekend is less than efficient. Another change noted is that years ago you could accelerate into a new course up until the Friday of the 6th week. Now you must complete all assignments/projects by the Wednesday of the 5th week so that things are hopefully graded by Friday morning of the 5th week for a new class to be assigned that day. off the soapbox now. What has your experience been when accelerating into a new course. RE: ETAMU / TAMUC accelerate ? - SpartacusPM - 07-14-2026 Not sure how long ago those changes you say took place. When I started there 2 years ago. You started with 2 courses and could accelerate 1 at a time, and the last day to add a new course was the Friday of week 5 as you mention. I was mostly able to get a new course added by the end of business on the same day as forwarding the emails. I believe the most I ever waited was one day, not counting the weekend. As long as you have send your course confirmation to your advisor by the 5th Friday of the term before 5pm CST. They will accelerate you into the next course. RE: ETAMU / TAMUC accelerate ? - ReyMysterioso - 07-15-2026 yes, that was also my experience from the get-go of this college being talked about on the board. I jumped on early on, then stopped pursuing the degree specifically because there wasn’t unlimited acceleration... and then came back to it and picked it up again later, ended up finishing. So I’m not sure this is really a change from what we knew before. But to maybe really get to the heart of your question, it is possible to do 15 credits in a semester for the motivated student. |
