Should I take some Study.com courses before applying to UMPI for BA in Psych? - Ariadne - 07-12-2026 EDIT: Oof just realized I put this in the wrong place. Sorry about that. It should be in Degree Planning Advice. Hi all! I received my AAS from Pierpont and am now ready to continue the journey to a Bachelor's and I've been eyeing the BA in Psychology from UMPI. I'm not sure what the next step should be -- should I take some courses from Study.com before applying? I'm not exactly sure what would be accepted towards the BA and what would still be outstanding. I also want to apply for financial aid but need to make sure I do all of this on the right timeline. I found this Degree Plan but not sure if it's up to date. If it is, it looks like I'd have to take most of the upper level credit at UMPI. Can you advise please? ![]() Thanks! Sorry about that. It should be in Degree Planning Advice. Take a look at the BA Psychology wiki for UMPI for the direct course transfers from SDC and Sophia. There are currently 4 courses for psychology with direct transfers: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UMPI_BA_Psychology_Degree_Plan I would also recommend that if you are looking for free electives for any reason, Coursera is also a fantastic way to push up those numbers as many of the Professional Certs often range from 6 - 18 credits a piece and, IMO, are not super challenging, but it does require some work. But work on knocking out those Sophia and SDC courses first, then apply to UMPI, have your eval completed by an advisor/success coach at UMPI, and report back if you need any further help. Good luck fellow degree hunter! RE: Should I take some Study.com courses before applying to UMPI for BA in Psych? - Ariadne - 07-28-2026 Thank you, Mint Berry Crunch for your kind reply. I'll check into that.

I probably should have attached the wiki too for convenience: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Coursera Also, I just realized that you've been a member here for 11 years, but with only 20 posts... very selective about what you post.
