Both can award credit. If you can find a way to take AP exams, they can award you more credit than clep in some cases, but they are harder to take since you need a high school willing to let you, and are only offered once per year. CLEP and AP - kimberlyaz - 08-31-2008 I had some AP credits from when I was in high school back in the 90's. At the first university that I attended, a certain score on the AP test didn't garner any English credit, but it did allow you to get placed in an "accelerated" English class so you only had to take 3 hours of Freshman Comp instead of 6. So -- I suppose this will vary from school to school. Whatever you do, don't duplicate subject matter between CLEP and AP (or any tests, for that matter). The AP exams were a LOT harder than the CLEP/DANTES that I took, in my opinion. |
