A little background I majored in Computer Science at Clark Atlanta in the early 2000s. Life got in the way and I unfortuantely stopped going to persue a career. Been working in billing since 2016 and have been trying to make a transition into more of an accounting role. Started WGU in 2022 and attended for a year I enjoyed WGU but some of the proctors were a bit of a nusiance. Any help with a plan to acheive my goal of a Bachelors degree. What is the best course of action to take. I would also considered going back to WGU if that is what is best. RE: Accounting Degree plan - jg_nuy - 07-10-2025 I'd recommend UMPI, as you have a lot of the accounting classes already accounted for within your transfer credits: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UMPI_BA_Accounting_Degree_Plan RE: Accounting Degree plan - bjcheung77 - 07-11-2025 Interesting, with the credits you have, you can do a BA Accounting & BABA PM & IS double major at UMPI... Since you have tuition assistance and reimbursement up to $5250/year, you can finish these classes in 3 sessions and also have 3-4 classes that can transfer to the MAOL. I suggest apply to UMPI and get your credits transferred into see what is remaining, you just need to do 30 credits for residency, you can transfer the rest in. You don't have enough of the UL Accounting courses done to really skip the frustrating UMPI versions, so I reccomend heading back and finishing what you started at WGU. They have the BS in Accounting now and the proctoring issues are way overblown. I finished a BA Accounting from UMPI, then went on to do the MAcc at WGU in one term. The accounting program at WGU is miles ahead of UMPI, like night and day. Just push through and try to finish in one term, then do the MAcc. It's a really robust and rigorous program. They gifted me UWorld and now I'm studying for the my first section of the CPA exam (FAR) that I will take in August. Is this your pace or the traditional school? Not very familiar with UMPI. You don't think the Accounting program at UMPI is worth it. |
