Eval now or later? - DetroitSki - 08-25-2008 A common question among us has been "should I enroll and get my unofficial evaluation now, or later?" I'm here to tell you, get it sooner rather than later. I thought I had this whole thing figured out. I vamped and revamped my degree plan so much that I thought I was an academic advisor. After I was almost done (so I thought), I sent in my 75 bucks to TESC. It took them about a month. In the meantime, I was still working my plan. I thought I was almost done...then...BAMN! They credited me with much less than I thought I should have. Now, much of the problem has to do with exam scores still in the pipeline. However, I had missed one course in my plan altogether. Similarly, I assumed(I know) that my MAT112 from the local community college would be ok. There were a few other glitches, too. All in all, I thought I was 3 exams away, turns out it may be more like 5. But, I was lucky. It could have been worse. I didn't take any unneeded exams. And I'll still graduate when I had planned. However, a caution to all those who seek counsel, pay the 75 bucks. Get you an evaluation and work off of that. You will save yourself some time and money in the long run. Thanks Eval now or later? - DetroitSki - 08-26-2008 I'm going for the Bachelor's in Emergency Management at TESC. I took 15 credits at a local community college to get an associates from them along the way. I took Biology, Business Law, Criminal Justice, Algebra and a 1 credit Professional Develpment course. |
