TESU vs UMPI Degree Plan - slreed - 01-23-2025 I'm waiting on hearing from UMPI regarding my admission and which credits they will accept. I'm considering UMPI because I will have more time to complete and still graduate this summer provided I can get my degree conferred after completing all my coursework with UMPI. I can't find their graduation schedule online. TESU I would have to wait until September to get my degree if I don't begin now and finish everything by May 1st (that is the Sophia courses as I will be in Capstone & 1101). I have already had my advisor at TESU bless my graduation plan and approve my courses and she believes I can graduate in June, also. But it will be a tight squeeze and no room for error. Also, TESU is a lot more expensive than UMPI. The UMPI plan would give me two 8 week terms to complete my credits, less money and still receive my degree before August. I work at a high school and my principal wants to hire me as a full time teacher but I have to have my degree completed before August in order for that to happen. I can work on certification while I'm employed as a teacher, so that is not an issue. Please look at the two documents here. One is the screenshots from TESU showing my progress there. The other is my UMPI estimated degree plan for a BLS with a History Minor. The UMPI is only in theory right now because I haven't heard back from them yet. UMPI Plan TESU Plan Also to consider is that I need to make this decision in the next 24-48 hours. I would love your thoughts and advice. Thanks! In any case, I would still go the UMPI route as the heavy favorite! RE: TESU vs UMPI Degree Plan - LevelUP - 01-23-2025 With TESU you need 100 credits applied to your degree before you can take the capstone. With UMPI, you could transfer some credits after your 1st term ends if you get permission. RE: TESU vs UMPI Degree Plan - ss20ts - 01-23-2025 UMPI graduates students at the conclusion of every term. Graduation isn't instant. It takes about 6-8 weeks for degrees to be conferred as per UMPI. I already got the 100 credits waived by my advisor. I'm all cleared to register for the Capstone. All I need to do is pay now. |
