Science and Lab question - n0fx - 01-04-2025

Does Astronomy and Astronomy Lab count towards GEC 3 in any fashion? I took that already and if it does count, would the 4 credits only be for one Learning Objective 3D or 3E?

Astronomy and Astronomy Lab from where? Any lab science will fulfill 3E. UMPI doesn't offer a course in astronomy so it's hard to say if they would accept it for 3D but it is highly doubtful because 3D covers: "Students will be able to describe environmental or physical aspects of the Earth and its abiotic systems, and discuss humankind’s effect on and place within these systems." Astronomy isn't on Earth so probably not. It would be a general elective most likely.

Hmm.. Ok. I took it at my Community College. We had a 101 and a 102. Solar System and Beyond The Solar System, respectively. I took Solar System. We did cover Earth and everything about it, but I do see your point.

Basically, only way of knowing is, to apply, transfer all credits, get an evaluation and show us what the highlighted yellow missing fields are. You can attach that as a pdf or picture document to your Google/One drive as a viewable (not editable) file, make sure to remove any personal info. We can see if it came in or not, provide recommendations, and so on... BTW, you may want to fill us in with the info on the addendum and template, so we get a bigger picture of your situation. https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-New-to-DegreeForum-How-this-Area-works
