I want to take the BIO101 Proctored Exam on Saylor. - Trion1991 - 12-23-2024 I want to take the BIO101 Proctored Exam on Saylor. I chose to use Saylor because it's WAYY more affordable than the others. It would be really helpful if I could get some notes to study from since the material on Saylor has too much fluff. I'd be willing to pay for some good notes too. I'd also like to ask for some advice on the proctored exam. RE: I want to take the BIO101 Proctored Exam on Saylor. - Avidreader - 12-23-2024 I passed this course last year. Have you tried the non proctored final exam for the certificate? The questions on the proctored final will be somewhat similar but not repeats. Expect it to have similar difficulty. Lots of questions about genetic transcription and translation, Mendellian and non Mendellian inheritance, a clinical case showing a family tree where some family members will have the genetic disease of interest. You will get asked something like the odds an aunt will birth a cousin with the same disease. Answers will be like 75% probability male child will have the disease. I also remember tons of questions about the biochemical changes from photosynthesis. Look at the exam questions on the practice final for that subject because they will be similar to the proctored final. I also remember some questions asking # of ATP produced by Glyconeogenesis and how many calories are offered by protein vs fat. Some questions about essential aminoacids like which option below is essential. Or which vitamin is fat soluble. Which option of disaccharids is lactose. There were questions about the porosity of cells and function of organelles. Which is the function of mitrochondria, what does the Golgi apparatus do, what happens during apoptosis, gene mutation types, genetic mechanisms for cancer. Maybe a clinical case featuring a viral disease. Whatever score you get on the practice exam will be slightly higher than the proctored exam. If you get an 80% on the practice exam, you will definitely pass the proctored exam. I think you need at least 70% and the final has 50 questions. Good luck! |
