Have you checked the website from the institution you are going to be applying to? What does the institution you're applying for ask to get? If it requires the IELTS Academic, then that's the one you want. If it just needs the IELTS General, that's the one you get, each institution is different, they have options for these, it doesn't always have to be IELTS either...

here on their website is just says IELTS not specifying which type , even for the PTE they have no mention if its pte core or academic

the link you mentioned doesn't say which of the main two test ( general or academic) is needed , it just says that the IELTS academic online IS also accepted not that its the one needed, and there is also no mention of which PTE is needed ( core or academic)

so i emailed umpi to ask about this couple days ago, they responded in the first email with just copy and past of info from their website which didn't really answer my question and it just mentioned IELTS and PTE without specifying which type, i sent em a response email saying that what they provided doesn't really answer my question but they didn't respond back, i am just gonna assume its ielts academic and pte academic.

Good stuff, leave it at that, sometimes assumptions make things easier, the link to the IDP provider mentioned IELTS Academic Online and that's the reason I would assume that would be the answer... and sometimes when you assume it makes an ass out of u and me (when the answer is obviously incorrect)...

update they have actually just responded and said that its must be academic test so for future people looking through the forum, you have to pass the academic english test ( IETLS academic or PTE academic) and as for toefl then they accept the toefl IBT but thats already mentioned on their website.

Good to know, that's what I was thinking they'll reply with... It's always best to email the institution you're going to go for to get the correct answer, and you can inquire about those requirements here, in case someone already has the info... Sometimes an educated guess at the answer works, others, it doesn't, so it's recommended to get these answered by the institutional staff (even if they're incorrect at times).
