TAMUC (East Texas A&M) Health Services BAAS - SpartacusPM - 11-09-2024 Happy Saturday all, I have been on my degree hacking journey since earlier this year and just about ready to start at UMPI, just waiting for one more transcript to be received by them and then be evaluated. My goal is to share what transferred in and my data points once I start. My determination has encouraged my wife to go back to school and get a bachelor's degree as well. We are in Texas and have recently been looking at TAMUC for her especially since she already has an AS in Health Services, so the BAAS in Health Services Administration program is the one she is interested in as it will further the career she is already in. With that said after looking through various posts on here and other sources I haven't been able to find much information on hackability on this. I have seen plenty for the ORGL degree, outside of the general education information on that one, it doesn't offer more that we can use. I imagine with her having an AS already she will at least check off most if not all of the general education and some electives and shouldn't be far off from classes she may be able to take from Sophia or Study.com in order to reduce the classes she would have to take at East Texas A&M. I have already warned her about the Texas Government class. ![]() Is anyone aware of a thread or a source that might discuss this BAAS in Health Services so we can look at what sort of game plan might be possible? She went ahead and requested more information on this with the school yesterday and already requested her transcripts be sent for evaluation, so we may just have to wait for that and go from there, just trying to see if we can get a jump start on it. RE: TAMUC (East Texas A&M) Health Services BAAS - ltw900rr - 11-09-2024 Looking at the Health Service Admin degree, it is set up very similar to ORG. 42 hours gen Ed, 48 hrs professional development electives, 30 hours of upper level classes at the college. I just made a post in another thread about my classes that transferred from CC, what I took on Sophia, and what I had to take at TAMUC (East Texas A&M). You said she already had an Associate's degree, so the core classes she took in CC will fill in for the core classes at TAMUC, The classes she took for her health service degree at CC should fill in for the professional development classes. Then she would have to take the 10 classes for her major at TAMUC plus 2 upper level electives. https://www.tamuc.edu/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/1e535264-degree-guide-hscb.pdf If you want, you can post her transcript from CC (omit any personal information) and we can give our opinion on how it will transfer. Thanks so much for the information. Will review with the wife and see what lines up with what she already has. RE: TAMUC (East Texas A&M) Health Services BAAS - KagomeH - 11-09-2024 I talked with an advisor for this degree as medical professional myself. If she has experience, the AS will align petty well. I ultimately did go this route because of it not being like the South Texas College degree (preferred this BAAS program). It's a solid degree and the classes will definitely line well her path. The technical requirements should filled with her AS. The application was free when I applied over spring. I went for Safety and Health BAAS as I really wanted a degree that would not limit to healthcare necessarily in the future. The classes I see on the registration seem interesting enough (just not to me). Good luck to her! RE: TAMUC (East Texas A&M) Health Services BAAS - bjcheung77 - 11-13-2024 That's great to know, good stuff for those looking towards health related admin roles... Now you have more choices to select from, see what the requirements are and compare the classes, costs, etc and see which one fits you more... RE: TAMUC (East Texas A&M) Health Services BAAS - ReyMysterioso - 12-24-2024 ETAMU is the way to go for speed. People on Reddit are jokingly calling UMPI YourPace “SnailPace.” I think they’ve been overwhelmed and grading and acceleration have been bogged down there.A class will be broken into say seven modules and each module has to be graded by the instructor and discussion board posts may have to be approved before the next one will unlock. At this time I’m pretty sure acceleration at ETAMU is easier. Yeah, as much as I want to attend UMPI for the BABA PM degree, based on how slow everything has been taking, I am leaning towards just going to ETAMU since I will get to start with the Spring 1 session and can roll into the Spring 2 session if needed. Really trying to complete my degree before summer this year. Might end up going to UMPI in the future for the BABA PM degree or even just go for the recently discussed MSB in Project Management. So many great options. |
