Frustrated with University of the Cumberlands - ArshveerCheema - 11-04-2024 I am asking for a proof of enrollment letter that also states my enrollment date and not just the term as after 13 weeks, I'm able to withdraw from my RESP without limit but the person refuses to provide that. I've only been enrolled in one college prior and that was a private for-profit college and they provided the date (without me even asking) but regardless, I really don't see how my request is unreasonable. I would love some input because I am very frustrated. RE: Frustrated with University of the Cumberlands - ss20ts - 11-04-2024 Please understand that every college has its own policies which the staff must comply with. What another university did is irrelevant. The person you're emailing may not know what RESP is. The 13 weeks is throwing them an issue. Maybe you should ask for a letter to include the date the term began. You included something about EAPs in your email but you call it an RESP. Also enrollment date is not the date classes began. Enrollment date is typically the date you first registered for classes. This is a small rural university. They probably don't have many students who have an RESP or anything similar. This isn't something the US has so they may not have any idea what it is. Be patient. Be polite! Glad your response was constructive. The other college was Canadian but it's parent company was Penn Foster. Anyways, regardless, as I said, I don't see how my request is unreasonable. Then, her final response confirms what I thought which was her evading my request. Like my request wasn't hard to understand. Yes, I am aware the enrollment date may be different, I didn't further specify, due to just that. Anyways, thanks again. RE: Frustrated with University of the Cumberlands - freeloader - 11-04-2024 Not sure if there are any prior emails, but you come off pretty rude and demanding, OP. The registrar has provided you with the standard enrollment letter which would be required by most perspective employers, government agencies, scholarship committees, and similar in the United States. You also don't provide any sort of solution to get the information that you need in your letter. Why not POLITELY and simply ask them if they can include something like "The Fall 2024 Term began on MMDDYY" or "The Fall 2024 Term began on MMDDYY and ends on MMDDYY"? Mate, it's clear that she's not providing that and do reread what the person above you wrote and my response to them. EDIT: I had more to write but I didn't want to risk my response being removed so with that in mind, I will write some more while also refraining from writing some things. In my first email, I clearly state that I already had a letter and asked for a "revised" letter with the "date" and gave my reason why. Yet she ignored that and gave me what was already provided to me. In my second email, I restate everything and she evades my request, saying that she doesn't understand it despite me twice clearly outlining everything. In my third email, I was very direct (as I clearly needed to be) as she was evading my request and her response confirms it in which she clearly states that she will not be providing me with what I ask of. Weird how she can include the end date but not the start date. RE: Frustrated with University of the Cumberlands - bjcheung77 - 11-04-2024 Here's a possible solution, you can send in that letter and also print this out along with it, the 2024 calendar: https://cumber-my.sharepoint.com/personal/webmaster_ucumberlands_edu/_layouts/15/onedrive.aspx?id=%2Fpersonal%2Fwebmaster%5Fucumberlands%5Fedu%2FDocuments%2FWebsite%20Shared%20Links%2FAcademics%2FAcademic%20Calendar%2FAcademic%20Calendar%20Fall%202024%20%2Epdf&parent=%2Fpersonal%2Fwebmaster%5Fucumberlands%5Fedu%2FDocuments%2FWebsite%20Shared%20Links%2FAcademics%2FAcademic%20Calendar&ga=1 RE: Frustrated with University of the Cumberlands - ArshveerCheema - 11-04-2024 (11-04-2024, 05:46 PM)bjcheung77 Wrote: Here's a possible solution, you can send in that letter and also print this out along with it, the 2024 calendar: https://cumber-my.sharepoint.com/personal/webmaster_ucumberlands_edu/_layouts/15/onedrive.aspx?id=%2Fpersonal%2Fwebmaster%5Fucumberlands%5Fedu%2FDocuments%2FWebsite%20Shared%20Links%2FAcademics%2FAcademic%20Calendar%2FAcademic%20Calendar%20Fall%202024%20%2Epdf&parent=%2Fpersonal%2Fwebmaster%5Fucumberlands%5Fedu%2FDocuments%2FWebsite%20Shared%20Links%2FAcademics%2FAcademic%20Calendar&ga=1I only have the option of uploading one attachment to the RESP site so I would have to merge the PDFs. I did write to the person that the Registrar CC'd and so if it doesn't work out, I will go the merging PDF route. Thanks. RE: Frustrated with University of the Cumberlands - Duneranger - 11-04-2024 LMAO if you had that tone with me I would straight up ignore you or walk away (if in person). Email decorum 101 bruh, even if you aren't getting your way.... RE: Frustrated with University of the Cumberlands - ifomonay - 11-04-2024 I vote to shut down this thread. It's starting to fall off a cliff pretty quickly (i.e. going down the road of personal attacks). You asked for an enrollment date. Not the dates for the semester. The registrar clearly thinks that those are not the same and/or that enrollment date is a term of art which they are unwilling or unable to provide on a verification letter. |
