Married off young - hoping to get my second chance at education - julietgetsherdegree - 10-31-2024

Hey everyone,

I'm Juliet from India.

As the post suggests, I was married very young (18). Higher education for women was not encouraged back then, but my husband has been very supportive nonetheless. I've been working as an Admin for a school for the last few years, handling.

I want to get my degree so I can move up from my current position or at least get a better job.

I have two doubts I was hoping to get advice on the same:

1) I want to pursue a course that unlocks a degree the fastest way possible. I do not care about what the course is; just want to get a degree
2) Through my job I've developed a strong interest for computers; I am also considering perhaps getting a degree in the same.

I would like to know what sort of costs can I expect for each of the route and an estimated timeline(if its possible)

Extremely thankful I came across this site; thanks in advance everyone!

Your Location: Mumbai, India
Your Age: 50
What kind of degree do you want?: I'm debating between two chains of thought; one of which is prioritizing speed and getting the degree and one is getting one in CS. The biggest concerns are estimated time to finish the degrees + cost
Current Regional Accredited Credits: None
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: None
Any certifications or military experience? None

Welcome to the board, that's a great intro post with half the required information, for some reason, you've got the template but missing the addendum. It's best to have more information for readers to assist you better. Link: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-New-to-DegreeForum-How-this-Area-works

Having said that, since you're starting off, you may want to do the UMPI BLS with a minor of your choice. I highly suggest doing the ACTFL and getting credit for your native state language within India, this will grant the most language credits that can be used for the language requirement and electives.

You can then do the Sophia.org then Study.com (using my discount on my bio/signature) recommended classes on the WIKI for general education and the specific degree plan I mentioned, you just need to review the minors that interest you. UMPI WIKI, under categories, click UMPI for all links to what I mentioned: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/University_of_Maine_at_Presque_Isle

Might be worth looking into SNHU India as well. There have been a few international students looking into that. Should be that much easier to access within India.

SNHU is great to look at outside India....rates are unbeatable....extremely low and affordable..they also really really low cost offer monthly pay...
