Another Canadian Student - Roxas - 10-14-2024 Hi everyone! I have been following this forum for about a year but finally decided to register. I followed the degree path to complete the Pierpont AAS (graduating in December, so I don't need to worry about the residency changes) and am now looking for a bachelor's degree in order to improve employability (or promotion.) Your Location: Ontario, Canada Your Age: 38 What kind of degree do you want?: Looking for the fastest to complete my credits, likely business. This is the main reason I am looking for advice. Current Regional Accredited Credits: 1 ASU CIS 194 - (1 cr) Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: 68 Sophia: Introduction to Ethics (PHIL1002) (3cr) Principles of Management (BUSI1013 - 2021) (3cr) Managerial Accounting (BUSI1011) (3cr) Principles of Finance (FIN1001) (3cr) Microeconomics (ECON1002) (3cr) Introduction to Statistics (STAT1001 - 2021) (3cr) The Essentials of Managing Conflict (ConRes1000) (1 cr) Developing Effective Teams (BUS1200 - 2021) (1 cr) Project Management (PM1001) (3cr) Introduction to Nutrition (HLTH1010) (3cr) Environmental Science (ENVS1001) (3cr) Introduction to Business (BUS1001) (3cr) Macroeconomics (ECON1001) (3cr) Workplace Communication (COMM1010) (3cr) Visual Communications (VisComm1001) (3cr) Introduction to Information Technology (CS1001)(3cr) TEEX: Cyber Security for Everyone (CYB101)(v.3) (5 cr) Cyber Security for IT Professionals (CYB201)(v.3) (4 cr) Coursera: Google IT Support Professional Certificate (15 cr) Any certifications or military experience?: Yes (see above) Budget: I am hoping to complete this the most affordable route as I do not have a ton of money to "play with." Commitments: Work 40 hours a week. Dedicated time to study: Can commit about 20-30 hours to study. Timeline: I am looking to complete this ASAP, depending on finances. Tuition assistance/reimbursement: Possibly OSAP student loans, but I prefer to pay out of pocket. RE: Another Canadian Student - ArshveerCheema - 10-19-2024 UMPI YourPace RE: Another Canadian Student - bjcheung77 - 10-19-2024 +1, I agree, you have to decide for yourself which program would be best for you... UMPI Your Pace has multiple degree options, I suggest the balanced mix/match trifecta of certs, degree, experience. Such as, more Coursera Certs to get you into Business/IT/PM, etc, UMPI BAS with a minor or two, plus the 4 classes that can potentially transfer into the MAOL later. Take your time to review posts, threads, WIKI and decide if a BAS to MAOL would work for you, you may consider the BABA PM & IS plus MAOL instead. |
